Camp Updates!

May 24th, 2010

Over the past few months I have posted about various topics from birds of prey to new camp activities to our beloved dump truck.  Here are some updates:

The General is back!  Our mechanic managed to install a new bed, replace the dumping mechanism, and even tossed in a new water pump and gave the engine an overhaul.  We have been working the General overtime lately, moving millions of pine needles, tons of downed pine limbs, and demo debris from our multiple construction projects.

Zip, Zip, Zip, Zip, Zip!

Last Friday the zip line went in!  I have not gotten the chance to test it yet but I am hoping to take the plunge sometime this week.  The adventure crew that installed it is working on a renovation of our rock wall belay system which is a fancy way of saying that the rock wall will be better than ever!

How awesome does camp look?  If you look closely you will see some of the new windows which were just installed over the weekend on the Rec Hall.  This means we are nearly done with our two year upgrade of the building!

Remember campers, pale is the new tan. Don't forget your sunscreen!

I know that many of you think that my job is all fun and games but this picture proves otherwise!  Someone had to test out our new paddle boards and I have to say that it may be my new favorite sport.  After cruising around for a while on the camp lake I was absolutely hooked.  They are easy to balance and I guarantee you will all love them this summer.

Hope you enjoyed the updates!  We are counting down the days until our staff arrives in June followed by our campers on June 27th!
