faq
1) How do I enroll?
At this time the only way to enroll your child at Camp Birch Hill is to print out the 'Camper Information' and 'Activity Choices' forms from the website and mail those and the indicated deposit amount to the camp office: 333C Birch Hill Road, New Durham, NH 03855.
2) How do I know if there is availability in the session(s) my child is interested in attending?
The best way to avoid your session filling up is to enroll early! Please call us at (603) 859-4525 to inquire about session availability.
3) When do you usually start filling up?
In the past, sessions A and D fill at a slower rate than B or C. We advise that you enroll by February for the coming summer in order to lock in your child's space.
4) Can I enroll online?
We are working to introduce online enrollment to our website but at this time the only way to enroll your child is to mail in the registration forms.
5) Can I pay for my child's tuition with a credit card?
We will be implementing credit card payments in the near future but currently the only way to pay for Birch Hill tuition is by check or wire transfer.
6) When are the health forms due?
All health forms (available on the website in the 'forms' page) must be mailed to camp prior to the summer.
7) Can my child request to be in the same cabin as his/her friend at camp?
We are able to accommodate most cabin requests as long as the campers are the same age (grade) and the same gender; just make a note on the enrollment form to request cabin placements.
8) How much pocket money should I send with my child?
Most campers will find that they do not require any extra money while at camp. There are opportunities to spend a few extra bucks while on camp trips (although we give each camper a small allowance to buy treats) as well as at the camp candy store. It is not advisable to send your child with too much money, as Camp Birch Hill will not be held responsible for any lost or stolen items, including money. $20 would be OK, $50 is too much!
9) What should my child pack for camp? What should we not send to camp?
Prior to the summer we send out a recommended packing list to all enrolled families. It is important to remember not to bring anything of high value to camp including expensive clothes, electronics (iPods, cell phones, computers), knives (including pocket knives), fireworks, etc. We also have a strict no drug or alcohol policy at camp; campers found with drugs or alcohol will be immediately sent home with no full or partial tuition refund.
10) How often is laundry done while my child is at Birch Hill?
We do every camper's laundry once per session.
11) How old do I have to be to work at Camp Birch Hill?
Counselors at Camp Birch Hill must be at least 18 years of age.
12) How can I apply to be a Birch Hill counselor?
You can apply through the 'jobs' link on our website.
